Pelvic circle is not an easy move. If you are trying it for the first time dont be discouraged if you cant do it rightaway - you will do it beautifully with some practice sooner than you will expect. But remember it does take practice and it takes work with quality instructional materials so that you have examples of good technique in front of you as you build your skills. First lets talk about the difference between two types of circles: a hip circle...... and a pelvic circle..... See they are diffferent: a hip circle..... a pelvic circle..... The regular hip circle is parallel to the floor - it is a 2-dimensional movement meanwhile pelvic circle is a 3-dimentional move it tilts and wraps around your body.Look. To find the 2 side points of the pelvic circle let us recall our vertical hip slides. Review the technique for the vertical slides in the vertical slides segment. Your knees are bending your hips go up and down - when your knee bends your hip goes down your knee straightens and your hip goes up... This gives us the two side points of the pelvic circle. Contract your glutes on the side where your knee straightens - contract contract contract contract. Glute contraction is essential to make this move fluid and supple. Now finding front and back points....remember the pelvic tuck in and release - review the techniqe for these moves in the pelvic tuck and release segment. tuck in...release...tuck in...release....The tuck in and release will be the front and back points for our pelvic circle. So the 4 pelvic circle points are: vertical hip slide your hip goes up - side point. Tuck in - this is your front point. Now this hip stays up the opposite hip slides down. This knee bends this one is straight and this is your second side point. And Pelvic release - this is your back point. So its : side - front side - back. If you look at the action o the knees: side - your hip goes up this knee straightens the opposite knee bends front - pelvic tuck in both knees straighten side: this hip stays upthe opposite knee bends back: pelvic release both knees bend lightly. So your knees keep working throughout.,
