Nickolay Ivanovich Pirogov 1810-1881 the prominent Russian scientist surgeon educator and public figure spent the last years of his life in a charming spot of Vishnya the Cherry-tree near Vinnytsya it is an urban district of the town now. The number of visitors including foreign visitors has already exceeded six million. On one of the walls a marble plaque reads: N.I. Pirogov lived here from 1866 to 1881.
