Best South Korean Actress of 2023: Song Hye Kyo or Lim Ji Yeons Victory? Song Hye Kyo and the villainess from The Glory have both made their presence felt in the rankings for the best actresses of 2023 yet the results are surprisingly unexpected. Not long ago Joy News 24 magazine conducted a survey on television and film entertainment sectors actors singers and more for the best of 2023. The survey included participation from over 200 industry staff encompassing employees from entertainment companies and broadcast stations to film content producers and entertainment reporters. Consequently the results were astonishing as Song Hye Kyo lost the leading position to The Glorys villainess Lim Ji Yeon. Securing the top spot in these rankings is Lim Ji Yeon the actress who played the villain Park Yeon Jin in the hit series The Glory evidently one of the most talked-about names in South Korea for the year 2023. Thanks to this role Lim Ji Yeon swept up numerous awards propelling her career to greater heights than ever before. Additionally this year Lim Ji Yeon diligently participated in a slew of projects for broadcast including Secret Garden and The Death Vote. Therefore her overwhelming victory with 36 votes was a foregone conclusion. Following in the rankings are Nana Uhm Jung Hwa Han Hyo Joo and Go Yoon Jung. The biggest surprise is undoubtedly Song Hye Kyo. Even with a hugely successful year in both her acting and her beauty the Song beauty only received 10 votes temporarily placing her fifth alongside her junior Go Yoon Jung. This position is deemed fitting for a young face like Go Yoon Jung but at the same time many believe Song Hye Kyo deserved a higher ranking due to her excellent transformation in The Glory. Earlier this very transformation earned her the prestigious Daesang at the Blue Dragon Film Awards in 2023 and the Best Actress award at the Baeksang Arts Awards in 2023. Thank For Watching!,
