A Proto-Sonata? Handels Sonata for Violin in A Major Op. 1 no 14 HWV 372 - Sonata Theory

An Analysis of Handels Sonata in A Major for Violin and Continuo in 4 movements. A Sonata like this of the late baroque period is an early precursor both to sonata form and to the piano trio. In this recording the continuo unit is comprised of a harpsichord and a viola da gamba Ive labeled this as being composed by Handel but I do want to mention that there is some doubt over who actually composed the music.
