Sergei Polunin and Natalia Somova with the Stanislavsky Ballet in Swan Lake. I neglected to change my default upload setting. And there are problems with the audio in places. This isnt a professional edit. I made it for my own enjoyment and am sharing it for those who may also enjoy the performance despite the flaws in the edits and video quality. This is a complete ballet. However its comprised of several different performances. Much of the footage is from a performance which appears to have aired on television. Since this was lower quality footage I did my best to enhance the video and edited it with higher quality footage I found to create a performance thats as seamless as possible. Better quality footage begins at 24:00 until Siegfried leaves. Resumes at 37:22 with even higher quality footage which is intercut as much as possible throughout the rest of Act 2. Ends at 1:06:00. Resumes again in Act 3 at 1:28:00. Theres some glitchiness in parts of the video that was beyond the limits of my editing skills to fix. There are also several places where the main audio track cut out I tried to replace the missing audio as seamlessly as possible but there are volume fluctuations and the dances are out of sync in places. Ive included links to the original videos so you can see these beautiful dances at full quality. She can only regain her human form at night. Her companions under the same spell have made her their queen. She is forced to live by a lake that was magically formed from her grieving mothers tears after Rothbart kidnapped her. The only way to break the spell is by the power of eternal love between Odette and a young man who will remain faithful to her for if the vow of eternal love is broken she will remain a swan forever. ACT 1 Prince Siegfried is celebrating his birthday. The revelries are interrupted by Siegfrieds mother the Queen who is concerned about her sons carefree lifestyle. She tells him that he must choose a bride at the royal ball the following evening. Siegfried is upset that he cannot marry for love. His friends try to lift his troubled mood. As evening falls he sees a flock of swans flying overhead and decides to go on a hunt. ACT 2 Siegfred arrives at the lakeside clearing just as a flock of swans land nearby. One of them transforms into a beautiful maiden Odette. At first she is terrified of Siegfried. When he promises not to harm her she tells him about her curse. Siegfried sets about winning Odettes trust as the two fall in love. But as dawn arrives the evil spell draws Odette and her companions back to the lake and they are turned into swans again. ACT 3 Guests arrive at the palace for a costume ball. Siegfreds mother hopes he will choose one of them as his bride. Von Rothbart arrives in disguise with his enchantress daughter Odile transformed so that she appears identical to Odette. Siegfried proclaims to the court that he intends to make Odile his wife. Von Rothbart shows Siegfried a magical vision of Odette and he realises his mistake. ACT 4 This is my best guess at an accurate summary. This act of the ballet differs from the synopsis details Ive found online. Grief-stricken Siegfried hurries back to the lake and begs Odette to forgive him swearing that he loves her only. She forgives him but explains that she has chosen to die so she can escape Rothbarts spell. A storm rises and Siegfried enters searching for Odette. Rothbart appears - and Odette is with him. Odette breaks free of Rothbart and throws herself into the lake with Siegfried. The power of their love breaks Von Rothbarts power and he is destroyed. The spell is broken Odette is restored and the lovers are finally able to be united together in an everlasting love.,
