Change brake light bulb on Mini Cooper R57. How to replace the Brake Light Bulb? Replacement Stop and Tail bulb. 1. Remove the chrome trim. Neat very fragile antennae without rush. We squeeze the chrome away from the lamp to raise the clips from the latches there are eight of them. 2. Under the lining are three self-tapping screws for Torx 20. Everything is simple we take it and turn it off. 3. It remains only to squeeze the plastic retainer from the inside and take out the flashlight and unfasten the chip from the wiring harness. Assembly in reverse order. 4. The bulb bracket contains the brake rear turn signal reverse and parking light bulbs. To remove any of the old bulbs just push the old bulb down into the socket and rotate it 14 turn in the counterclockwise direction before pulling the old bulb straight out of the socket. 5. Push a new number P21W light bulb down into the socket and rotate it 14 turn in the clockwise direction to secure it into place. If you would like to have brighter tail lights install some compatible replacement P21W LED bulbs. 6. Id also recommend wiping the new bulb with a paper towel and some rubbing alcohol to clean it. If the new bulb has any oil or dirt on it from your fingers it may operate at a slightly higher temperature and not last as long. 7. Actually we are done. Carefully lower the bulb holder bracket back down into the cargo area. ---------- This is a very simple job to do. Try not to touch the glass on the new bulb. Hope this helps someone.
