Back then the triggers had a lot of versatility compared to other options. The easy and quick ability to control flash power and groupings especially. Not to mention the added features such as super sync and the ability to update firmware over the 622N transceivers. As of 2018 Id suggest looking into the Godox X system instead. It has more flexibility and covers everything from studio strobes to simple manual speedlites.
