Benedict Cumberbatch Smaug mocap comparison

For a friend. Im going to put it here since people keep asking in the comments: The mocap work done here was Benedicts own suggestion. The film makers just decided to go with it. Its obvious that they used some audio from the clip of his mocap here then went back to rerecord for some others. Obviously the mocap isnt 1:1 and it looks more like they just used it here as inspiration for the animation of his mouth jaw tongue and nose.,
