Manifold with Ansys VOF Free Surface CFD model Side Inlet

This is another CFD free surface simulation using Ansys Fluent which shows two-phase flows in a large manifold. Similar devices are used in gas piping for separations and are akin to slug catchers. Here the flow enters from a side inlet which causes possibly less sloshing than the top inlet case. Due to numerical resolution the smaller droplets are not modeled although the bulk flows should be accurate. Note that the inlet is stratified 2-phase flow with the liquid on top. It appears as just a sheet but is the interface. Of course this represents an assumption about the incoming flow.,
