Secret Garden - Spiritbox Guitar Cover

Watch it in 4k!!!! DO IT This was a fun one to make. I filmed this in two different spots at a place called Hoyt Lake in scenic and tropical Buffalo NY--the greatest city that ever was or will be. Obviously this isnt a one-take playthrough: I recorded multiple takes at each spot and just edited the best ones together in Logic when I got home. My GOD that verse was a doozy to learn but fun as hell to play once I finally got it down. Mike Stringer continues to be one of the most creative and tightest players out right now ALSO I realized while I was editing that I had accidentally forgotten to delete the camera audio from 2:46 through the rest of the video but I thought it sounded really cool so I left it in! You can hear some birbs chirpin in the background and I thought it fit perfectly with the whole feel of the song--especially the final minute. Thank you birbs for singing along with Courtney So I actually dont tune my guitar down at all to play Spiritbox stuff--Im in Drop A on my 7-string AEADGBe and I use the Archetype: Gojiras pitch shifter to tune down to F in real time. Its an unreal plugin and has saved me an unbelievable amount of time and effort effectively making it so I dont have to downtune my guitar to jam along to my favorite bands Im not sponsored wink wink I just hecking love all the Neural DSP plugins I have. For the clean tone I couldnt find one I liked in the Archetype: Gojira plugin so I used BIAS FX and found a Tosin Abasi clean preset that sounded pretty similar to Mikes tone. My playing is obviously a million times sloppier than his but I think it turned out alright. I threw a compressor on after the BIAS plugin because I was reeeeally smashing the hammer-ons on the low-A string and it helped to tame those a little bit while also bringing up the volume on the quieter hammer-ons.
