Trapping Beaver

Trapping beaver works best with a snare. The snare is the most efficient and our favorite tool for trapping beaver. Watch how we set the snare up. We push a beaver stick into the mud. We connect a 9 support wire. Snare will be set in the water. We use an anchor and a snare. Trapping the beaver involves forcing the beaver to swim through the lasso in the snare. Once the beaver swims through the lasso the snare tightens and holds the beaver. Snare should be two inches off the beaver stick. We use beaver lure on top of the beaver stick. Beaver lure will keep the beaver circling the stick. When the beaver comes swimming down the channel we will on the surface of the water. We want the beaver to go under the water into our trap. So we use brush to block the beavers swimming on the surface. When the beaver sees the brush the beaver will go under the surface and hopefully into our snare. When should you consider trapping beaver? Beavers will dam up runoff channels in waterways. This will cause flooding in that area. This can be a real issue for industrial areas.
