Tory politicians wife jailed for race hate post

Lucy Connolly the wife of a Conservative councillor has been jailed for 31 months for a race hate post on social media. Connolly 41 called for hotels housing asylum seekers to be set on fire in a tweet which was viewed 310000 times. The post deemed to incite violence came after three girls were killed in Southport. Connolly a childminder also made other inflammatory remarks and attempted to use mental health as a defense. She will serve 40 of her sentence in prison.
