[리포트] 나주 혁신도시에 난방과 온수 등을 공급하는 열병합발전소입니다. 그동안 열전용 LNG 보일러만 사용하다 광주에서 생산된 고형폐기물연료, SRF로 발전소를 돌리기 시작했습니다. 2018년 유해물질 배출 논란 등으로 주민들이 반발하며 가동을 멈췄는데 4년여 만에 본격적인 가동입니다. 지난 3주 동안 연료 천4백여 톤을 공급받았고 하루 3백 톤 정도를 발전에 사용할 계획입니다. 당분간 하루 최대 용량의 2/3만 가동하고 발전소 설비와 연료 공급이 안정화되면 5월 부터는 정상 가동이 예상됩니다. [오세진/한국지역난방공사 SRF대응팀장 : "LNG 보일러를 차단하고 거기 발전소에서 나오는 열로 혁신도시에 공급하는거죠. 계속 발전소를 돌렸다가 다시 시설 점검하고 또 돌리고 또 점검하고. 이런 반복적인 과정이 필요한 사항입니다."] 발전소 사업 개시 신고를 거부해 소송중인 나주시는 즉각 반발하며 난방공사를 항의방문했습니다. 강인규 나주시장은 대법원 상고로 소송이 진행중인데 일방적이고 기습적인 가동이라며 지역사회와 상생할 수 있는 해결방안이 마련될때까지 가동을 중단해야 한다고 밝혔습니다. 혁신도시 주민단체 등으로 구성된 SRF 저지 공동대책위는 반대 집회를 예고했습니다. 한편, 발전소를 가동하지 못한 기간에 대해 난방공사가 나주시 등을 상대로 제기한 손해배상소송은 1심 판결 전이어서 소송전도 계속될 것으로 보입니다.
