Dear Academics, Today we are talking about the relation of science and philosophical thought. I suggest something attractive in the way of logical thinking rather than applying different theories as de facto. Is philosophical thought the beginning of academic science? We can answer this question in this way: Firstly, the first humans started to obtain and learn about the environment, what scientists actually do nowadays. If I touch something, what is the reaction of that? But philosophical thought is something different. After getting the experience, I collect my knowledge, and understand the meaning of this action and my senses to that, inviting people to do the same action, I have a thought of how it is perceived by society. The philosophical thought is: Learning and observing something new, you take new opportunities into your life. Without coming out of the box, you don’t produce new thoughts and actions. You teach that you have known what you are experienced in. Do you stop teaching without new knowledge? You need new pupils to teach who don't know the subject which you are experienced in. So, the hypothesis is: Life is endless because of the need for «new», but at the same time the new has the characteristics of the individual's perception, for some it is new, and for others it is not, but the one who does not know is new for the one who knows, thus new knowledge is produced only in the case of participatory with the new. I think and it means I have a philosophical thought that can be identified as an importance also if a thinker thinks about himself in the context of «I» as a human in relation to the Universe. How to identify that it is important? Looking at the previous hypothesis of «new», it could have that relation, but it is not enough, so for identifying it as a scientific and philosophical thought, our assumption should reply to the next questions: Objective Relevance Tasks Theoretical and practical significance Having an objective, you have a reason, not every time reason is related to a problem. Reason as an improvement. Welcome to create your philosophical thoughts because you will improve the individual and social lives of millions of people and solve global problems. This year was interesting and productive. I had a few interviews with professionals which helped to understand the specifics of academic culture and the effectiveness of higher education. At the end of this year, I organized two personal events; one related to the University of Alexandria and the memory of Ahmed Hassan Zewail, a Nobel Prize winner, and one meeting with English teacher Yac, who has a unique story about how he became an English teacher. Next year I plan to organize interesting sessions about PhD studies and PhD projects. I hope you will be happy, healthy, wealthy and have scientific achievements next year and have excellent marks in your exams!!!!! Welcome to 20-25!!!!! Leaders and participants. What is their mission? I have selected the most well-organized academic clubs to identify their main principles for building it and its characteristics. The main gain of an academic club is to specialize in students and academic interest in developing an expert community. University Societies (like AI Ethics Society, Chinese Orchestra Society, Algorithmic Trading Society and European Society), which don’t have a membership system and organizational structure like Academic Clubs, just specialized events and discussions like hosting the experts, organizing the debates and conferences. I have reviewed several University societies and clubs by visiting the link: https://www.proctors.cam.ac.uk/clubsandsocs/registered-societies and selecting 93 academic clubs: ⭐️ Membership system; ⭐️ Events; ⭐️ Learning outcome; ⭐️ Career development; ⭐️ Student’s/Professional career activity; ⭐️ Human Resources; ⭐️ Equipment and laboratory availability. Examples of academic clubs are: 🎓Club d’Europe by European Foundation University; 🎓 Global Business Club by Harvard University; 🎓 The Literature and Writing Club at California State University San Marco; 🎓 The Communications Club at Hilbert College in Hamburg, New York; 🎓 Academic Film Club by the University of Hradec Králové; 🎓 Student Parliamentary Club (Youth Collegium of the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia); 🎓 Philosophical and legal club, student scientific club «Moral dimension of law» (Kutafin Moscow State Law University). It is not ethically correct to prioritise scientific directions, so let’s select the most famous creators. Famous academic and their scientific discovery from USSR are: Andrei Dmitrievich Sakharov (1921–1989). A prominent physicist and dissident, he played a crucial role in the development of the Soviet hydrogen bomb and later became a leading advocate for human rights. Andrey Nikolaevich Kolmogorov (1903–1987). A mathematician known for his groundbreaking work in probability theory and turbulence. Igor Yevgenyevich Tamm (1895–1971). A physicist and co-developer of the Tokamak, a device designed to confine plasma for nuclear fusion research. Lev Davidovich Landau (1908–1968). A theoretical physicist known for his work in condensed matter physics, he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1962. Sergei Pavlovich Korolev (1907–1966). Often regarded as the father of the Soviet space program, he was instrumental in launching Sputnik and sending the first human, Yuri Gagarin, into space. American famous academics and their scientific achievements are: Albert Einstein (1879–1955). A theoretical physicist known for the theory of relativity and contributions to quantum mechanics, he is one of the most influential scientists of the 20th century. Richard Feynman (1918–1988). A physicist known for his work in quantum mechanics and particle physics, as well as for his accessible teaching style and work on the Manhattan Project. Noam Chomsky (1928–present). A linguist, philosopher, cognitive scientist, and social critic known for his theory of transformational grammar and works on politics and media. Robert Oppenheimer (1904–1967). A theoretical physicist known as the "father of the atomic bomb" for his role in the Manhattan Project. Paul Samuelson (1915–2009). An economist who won the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences and is considered one of the founding figures of modern economics. If you want to become famous academic, you have to think about big idea like how to save this world, to create sustainable society or to create a peace and care about people, how to educate people for creating civilised society and not how to kill them all for their impoliteness and unethical behaviour. I have analysed a lot of biographies and there is a fact that the legendary science is physics. But It is within your power to make your science the most necessary and humane on our planet. Interesting, right? Academic life in the 1950s was characterized by traditional values, strong opportunities, official teaching loads, and a focus on research. While there were signs of change on the horizon, academia remained relatively conservative and formalized during this period. Professors often wore suits and ties, while students dressed formally for class. Women's hair was often styled in a bouffant or beehive, while men wore crew cuts or military-style haircuts. The 1950s saw the rise of rock 'n' roll music, television's popularity grew, and the Civil Rights Movement gained momentum. Academics were influenced by these cultural trends, but they also maintained a sense of detachment from mainstream culture. Campus life was relatively quiet and conservative, with few student organizations or extracurricular activities. Fraternities and sororities were prominent, but student unions were scarce. Academia maintained a strict social hierarchy, with full professor so at the top, followed by associate professors, assistant professors, and instructors. The rise of new disciplines like sociology and psychology led to tensions between traditional disciplines like classics and philosophy. Research was a crucial aspect of academic life in the 1950s. Professors were expected to publish papers, present at conferences, and secure funding for their research. Teaching loads were busy, with professors often responsible for teaching multiple courses, advising students, and conducting research. Office hours were lengthy, and professors were expected to be available for students outside of class. The academic job market was limited, and many academics held multiple positions or taught part-time to make ends meet. Tenure tracks were scarce, and job security was uncertain. Academia was a predominantly male-dominated field, and women often faced challenges in pursuing higher education. Social norms emphasized the importance of family, loyalty, and conformity. Looking back, academics understand how to build a present time and future. Nowadays we have a lot of opportunities to build our own culture, our society, our place to live by analyzing previous experience. My pleasure for the historical materials to the University of Pittsburgh and Princeton University. Today I am talking about Media Education which refers to the process of teaching individuals, especially students, about various aspects of media, including how to critically analyse media content, understand media production, and recognize the role of media in society. It encompasses a variety of topics, including but not limited to: Media Literacy. Understanding how to access, analyse, evaluate, and create media in various forms. This includes developing critical thinking skills to assess the credibility of sources, the influence of media on perceptions and behaviours, and the impact of media on society. Media Production. Learning the skills necessary to create media content, such as writing, video production, audio editing, graphic design, and digital storytelling. This empowers students to become content creators rather than just consumers. Understanding Media's Role. Exploring how media shapes cultural norms, public opinion, and political discourse. This includes studying the history of media, different media forms (e.g., television, internet, print), and their societal influences. Ethics and Responsibility. Discussing the ethical implications of media creation and consumption, including issues related to copyright, privacy, representation, and misinformation. Digital Citizenship. Promoting responsible and ethical behavior in online environments, including understanding digital footprints, online privacy, and the impact of social media. Current Trends and Technologies. Staying informed about the latest developments in media technologies, platforms, and trends, such as social media, streaming services, and emerging technologies like AI and virtual reality. Media education is an actual topic for a discussion in academic society. I recommend you to learn more by visiting the next Universities: Claremont Graduate University, New York University (NYU) - The Tisch School of the Arts offers programs in Film and Television, as well as Media Studies, University of Southern California (USC) - The Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism provides various media-related programs, Birmingham City University - Offers programs in Media and Communication, including media health and digital media, Ryerson University - The School of Professional Communication offers a focus on media and communication, Lund University (Sweden) - Provides a Master's program in Media and Communication Studies, Hong Kong Baptist University - Offers programs related to communication and media studies. Being a student, you know about your efforts to write a book of your future competence. Thesis is the final work of your bachelor or master’s degree program. Dissertation is the final work of your doctoral study. The requirements are different for a master’s degree qualification work and for a dissertation. Your academic writing should be much better writing a doctoral dissertation than in writing your master‘s thesis. Dissertation requires a new research, hypothesis and the approval of it, scientific publications, it takes a long oral presentation, longer than a master's degree thesis which has a conceptual idea of what is described with the analysis. Working about the dissertation, the researcher has an opportunity to create a new theory and the model of knowledge, when writing a thesis researcher has to learn this knowledge and theory to confirm his research ability and analytical skills. This Quadrate of the academic norms is a campus where students learn the academic culture which has been applied to their study and research. Academic opinions reflect a student ability to solve their professional and personal issues in the academic norms of behaviour. Campus helps to learn, support and understand academic ethics which regulates the relationships between society and academic people, academic people and nature, between personalities. This knowledge helps to understand and formulate the rules and norms of academic criticism, research and academic activity evaluation. Academic society consists of the different representatives of the different scientific directions, including their social identification like country and nation. Academic beliefs represent the ability to lead tolerance, scientific inspiration, co-operation, corporate culture, team work, humanity, liberty, innovative thinking, criticism and academic community. Academic campus is a place of teaching and learning, there is a place of challenging, creating, borning and developing, there is a place of growth. Professional identity of teachers consists of: research community, teachers and policy makers. Valentina Suarez and Jason McGrath talk about the importance of flexibility and ability to act on change by developing teachers' professional identity in their classroom practices, implementation and interpretation of educational policies. The demarcations of teacher identity are: Teacher branding (Self-representation) Self-assurance Organisational abilities and motivation Competence Sympathetic discernment to the tasks Career satisfaction, planning and effectiveness Educators have a lot of instruments nowadays for improving their professional and personal qualities that make teaching and professional identity measurable so each value of teacher identity can be evaluated. Make your teaching and professional identity excellent and you will be an honourable professional.
