W piątym Turnieju Żelaznej Pięści, jak zwykło się nazywać zawody prezentowane w serii „Tekken”, występuje szereg znanych wojowników. Zmian natomiast nie zauważymy w systemie walki – w dalszym ciągu jest to rewelacyjnie sprawujący się rozkład „silna-słaba ręka, silna-słaba noga”, idealnie rozplanowany po geometrycznych przyciskach. Wielkie wrażenie robią w pełni trójwymiarowe areny, które zgodnie z panującą modą posiadają kilka interaktywnych elementów, które z kolei można wykorzystać w walce (ściany, kolumny, posągi itp.). W „Tekken 5” oprócz głównego trybu rozgrywki uświadczymy takie opcje, jak: tryb versus, trening, a także tryb przygodowy, który pojawił się już w przypadku trzeciej części „Tekkena”.
