Besides abilities this also includes armor and weapon types - stamina and magicka can both use any skill (as long as they can sustain it), any weapon type and can both use light and medium armor ~ whichever is fitting for the situation. ▶ The most common dual wield enchant combination is now fire + poison and no longer poison + disease ▶ The currently used "charged" offhand trait on dual wield is making enchants stronger than they used to be. Separate poisons overwriting the glyphs are not really used anymore. ▶ Some skill and buff durations are no longer the same as shown in the video as a lot of them have been increased. ▶ Skills, skill morphs and gear setups will always adjust depending on the patch. A lot of the skill builds and gear combinations I am using in the clips are no longer used. Especially the hybrid changes have changed some builds and used morphs by a good bit. ▶ As an AoE spammable option from the destruction staff skill line "pulsar" is usually better than the mentioned morph "elemental ring". ▶ With hybridization it now does not matter if you are a magicka or stamina DD for the group composition - what matters is if you are wearing medium or light armor. Medium armor is for crit damage, light is for penetration - one type will lack what the other provides unless your group is helping you. For example groups with medium armor have to provide more penetration ~ of course a mix of medium and light can be worn but usually one armor type is dominant. This also means sets that used to be for stamina or magicka only can now be used by both types. ▶ Racial passives have also been hybridized. Orcs, whilst still only giving increased stamina, give both weapon AND spell damage now. Same for high elves (with magicka instead of stamina). This means these races now work for both specs but are not the strongest option for the counterspec of the increased resource they provide. ▶ Weapon and spell damage enchants for jewelry are now also hybridized and give both damage types. The only difference between them now is if they give stamina or magicka recovery. ▶ What potion to use now depends on which resource you need more. Always make sure you still allign the major and minor crit and damage buffs with what you or your group provides to you. (description last updated for: U40) This guide is supposed to be an overview to all the basics of playing a damage dealer in The Elder Scrolls Online. It is kept general to be easier to understand by DDs who are just starting off without adding confusion due to too much detail about things like specific classes.
