Ingredients: 1. 1 box of vanilla cup cake mix (or use vanilla cake mix) 2. Vanilla frosting (purchased from supermarket) 3. 1 box ready-to-roll icing or use fondant 4. Red, white, black and purple gel food coloring "Wilton" or Americolor" 5. Standard muffin tray, black color paper cases 6. Transformers template: print from internet image to fit size of your cupcake about 6cm x 6cm (2 1/2inch x 2 1/2inch); cut out, to make sure it still in one piece in some small or fragile parts simply make small holes with toothpick for guidance it will help to connect everything in the image Method: 1. Preheat oven to 180C (350F) or according instructions on your cake box. Line standard muffin tray with black color paper cases. Mix vanilla cake mix according to instruction on the box, divide among two plates. First cake batter tint with red gel food coloring, and tint second with purple gel food coloring. Place red and purple cake batters in two different piping bags (or use plastic cups as I did) snip very end of two piping bags and pipe red and purple cake batters in the same time in one paper case to create two different color of autobot and decepticon (if you pipe same time they will not mix together). Fill about 3/4 full or a little less would be okay, do not overfill. Bake vanilla cupcakes according instructions on the box. Let cool. 2. Trim tops of cup cakes with small sharp knife to make them flat. Spread small amount of vanilla frosting on top of cup cakes. 3. Use ready-to-roll icing or fondant,(take from packaging knead on working surface slightly sprinkled with powdered icing sugar). Roll out your fondant until it 3-4mm (1/8-1/4inch) thick. Using a round cookie cutter, cut out discs that cover the top of the cupcakes. Adjust the size of the fondant if it is slightly too big. Use palm of your hand to gently smooth top of cupcakes. 4.Place ready transformers template on top of cupcake and trace around with black edible food decorating pen or use toothpick or use back of brush. Make tiny holes with toothpick through prepared before in template, then connect everything to complete image. If using black edible food decorating pen you will see whole image ready; if use toothpick to trace around, then apply small amount of black gel food coloring and outline whole image using small brush or toothpick. 5. To color decepticon part make lighter color of purple: mix purple and white gel food coloring to create light purple color and apply on one half of image on your cupcake (or use purple gel food coloring as it is, it will be a little darker color then); if you like leave some white color borders between purple color and image. Then apply red gel food coloring on the other autobot half, leave also some borders or parts uncolored white to create rustic look of transformers image.
