This is the second music video, the song itself was the third ditty from my radio shows ‘Lockdown’ song project If you want to catch up, here is the link for the first video, for a song called: “Staying In” (Super Lazy Girl) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MbW0IcMROA0 This project/challenge is for us each week to write and record two new songs, all of them topical snap shots of life under the lockdown. The songs span different characters and all different musical genres. I write and record all the music. The lyrics are either by myself or from people who have been guests on my radio show. Then Karen Holmes writes the melody and she sings the songs. The plan is to release them all on an ‘album’ – which you will be able to buy as either a £6 download, or for £10 [plus £5 postage to anywhere in the world] as a deluxe CD. That is if by June CDs are still a real thing… if not we will send out an 8 track or a 78rpm vinyl pressing? The CD is the special edition, as it will come with a four-page booklet which will have loads of info about the songs and recordings. The CD will also contain some extra bonus tracks, and will be signed by Karen. Any and all profits from these sales will be going to the NHS. The ‘album’ is not on sale yet – give us time to actually write and record the songs – but it should be out in June... even if we, the people of the UK are not out by then. I will try to respond to all comments… The song is called “The View Within” Lyrics by James Leon and Master J Music by Master J Melody by Karen Holmes All Music recorded by Master J Sung by Karen Holmes Recorded and mixed by Master J at the NPW Studios London First off, a big thanks to James Leon. James is a real [unlike me] singer songwriter. And although the lyrics ended up being written by both of us. I would say around 50/50. But it was James who wrote the main chorus lyrics – the hook… and without him sending the lyrics/song in the first place [for me to destroy] there truly would have been no song. So, he deserves more credit than he’s getting. Much more. This song was his baby... his idea... his spark of 'genius'. So truly he deserves most of the credit for this song existing. So, if anyone likes the song and sees James Leon out and about – do please give him a pat on the back, or some kind of treat, he might like an apple? Karen Holmes is a professional singer with a vast amount of experience performing in musicals. Both in the West End and on Number One Tours. Master J has no experience in writing or recording songs. But he did once listen to some songs... and has presented a live radio show for the last few years. Through that he has interviewed, met, and learned much, off of some well-known musicians and producers. He will be learning and improving as he goes, on this ill thought out project. So, these rough mixes [like the one in this video] will be remastered [and improved] before the CD and streaming releases later in the year. The video was devised and edited [again poorly] by Master J. I couldn’t do James and Karen’s talent justice – but I did spend hours and hours trying to make things that should be easy – happen. I hope what I tried to communicate in this music video – works for you [the watcher] on some level.
