TOO LATE is what many told me. It didn't discourage me, and I was lucky to have an excellent piano teacher early on. I knew what I wanted and had the discipline thus, I managed to pass the entrance exam for the conservatory with excellence 👌 in just 4 years of piano lessons! In only 4 years of playing the piano, I managed to play very well Chopin's etude opus 25/12, Chopin's Fantasie-Impromptu, and Nocturne in F-Major, Mozart's sonata KV332, Rachmaninov's Pollichinelle, and Bach's Prelude and Fuge in C-minor and B-flat Minor. The background you see, is actually an abandoned summer house built in the 1900s. It was meant to be fully destroyed but the people left out the solid rock basement. The manor sits next to the edge of a cliff and it's really interesting to find random columns, staircases, statues, etc. We did have to hike for a while to access it but we had so much fun filming! I have always been a big fan of Grumiaux but I love Perlman's recording of Viotti 22 just a little bit more - from his cd "Concertos From My Childhood". I do however find it interesting to listen to alternate recordings so I can compare how one performer interprets something in contrast to how someone else interprets the same piece.
