In the key of C, with the C major chord, you start with the root C, D on the 9th for the second note, E for the third note, then G, then A. That completes the C major Pentatonic sequence. A is the relative minor key to the C major, so you could also play the A as the root note. The same scale can be played that way - A, C, D, E, G, A, repeat. This is also a great scale to just practice on one string, to be able to hear the intervals. If you do it all on one string, you go far up along the neck, which is an excellent opportunity to practice visualizing the changing intervals. You can start these scales on any string. Fingering is optional. You may want to do stretches, but everyone's fingers are different, so Andreas leaves the fingering up to you! There are so many ways to practice the pentatonic scales and another way to do this is to do it in one position across the multiple strings. "Frantic” retains its harmonic ambiguity until the end by ending on a surprising chord. Each instrument is featured in a way that brings to mind lyrical, melismatic vocal phrasing. This piece works best when the listener bobs their head to the pulse, which often changes from 4/4 to 3/4.
