Смотрим и раскрываем все секреты!Survivor- Eye of the Tiger GUITAR COVER, Survivor- Eye of the Tiger GUITAR TABCarlos Simon | Elegy: A Cry from the Grave (2015) Paul Biss, conductor | NEC Symphony This piece is an artistic reflection dedicated to those who have been murdered wrongfully by an oppressive power; namely Trayvon Martin, Eric Garner and Michael Brown. The stimulus for composing this piece came as a result of prosecuting attorney Robert McCulloch announcing that a selected jury had decided not to indict police officer, Daren Wilson after fatally shooting an unarmed teenager, Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri. The evocative nature of the piece draws on strong lyricism and a lush harmonic charter. A melodic idea is played in all the voices of the ensemble at some point of the piece either whole or fragmented. The recurring ominous motif represents the cry of those struck down unjustly in this country. While the predominant essence of the piece is sorrowful and contemplative, there are moments of extreme hope represented by bright consonant harmonies. – Carlos Simon Connect with us! We hope you enjoy this performance of "Goin' Home" by Czech composer Antonin Dvořák, arranged by Sgt. 1st Class Nadia Pessoa, and performed by Sgts. 1st Class Annette Barger & Nadia Pessoa. We are proud to feature footage from Shenandoah River State Park--a state park close to our home in Virginia. Czech composer Antonin Dvořák wrote his Symphony No. 9, "From the New World," soon after arriving in America in 1893. He had come New York City to serve as the director of the National Conservatory of Music of America, a conservatory founded with a goal of cultivating American music. Shortly afterwards, Dvořák began working on his ninth symphony, which he said reflected his "impressions and greetings from the New World.” The longing and nostalgic solo English horn melody that opens the second movement of the symphony, was later set to words by one of Dvořák's students, William Arms Fisher. Waltraut and Gerhard Kirchner Edited By: Chris Roggi PROGRAM NOTES: Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750): Sonata No. 5, BWV 529 Without a doubt, Johann Sebastian Bach was one of the most renowned and prolific German composers of the Baroque Period, if not one of the greatest composers of all time. Born into a musical family, he learned to sing and play numerous instruments including the organ, harpsichord, violin, and viola. Through brilliant counterpoint, Bach wrote many great works including the Brandenburg Concertos, Mass in B Minor, Well-Tempered Clavier, in addition to countless passions, cantatas, partitas, organ works, and sonatas. This particular sonata, BWV 529, was originally a trio sonata for organ. Similar to the six flute sonatas, Bach also wrote six trio sonatas for organ (BWV 525-530). Initially, it was thought that he composed all six in or around 1727, but that period of time has since expanded. Scholars now believe that this fifth trio sonata was written around 1731. Traditionally, all three voices of the Baroque trio sonata were assigned to a single keyboard player. One upper instrument was played in each of the hands, while the basso continuo part was played with the feet (pedals). At the time, this arrangement of something old turned into something new was already quite fascinating. The piece has been taken a step further and has been transcribed for flute, leaving the remaining upper voice and basso continuo part to the piano.
