Blockwerk, Flutes and trumpet stops together. Performed and recorded by Dr. Stephen Duncan Hans Kotter (1480 in Strasbourg - 1541 in Bern) was a German composer and organist of the Renaissance. Although organ music was not popular or enthusiastically supported in Strasbourg in the early Reformation years, the first known organ chorales were composed by Kotter. He studied with Paul Hofhaimer from 1498 to 1500. Thereafter to 1508, he was organist at the Saxon court at Torgau. Subsequently he held positions in Breisgau and in Friborg (Switzerland), where he was shown, although after detention and torture because of his Protestant faith. From 1534 he taught as a schoolmaster in Berne. His organ book, which he collected from 1513 to 1522, contains the first German organ dances and pieces by Hofhaimer, Josquin des Prez, Heinrich Isaac, and others. They play string-quartet-fusion music, with a classical string quartet (viola, violins, cello) plus drums, double bass, beat boxing, keyboards, electronics, singers. From Wikipedia: "Largely one of the most rhythmically regular works by Stravinsky, the Tango consists of 4/4 bars in four-bar phrase structures. However, this Tango does not follow the rhythmical logic used in Argentinian Tangos: syncopation is almost never used on the last beat of every bar, but it is used on the second instead. This provides the work with a distinctive atmosphere. Unlike some of Stravinsky's post-European works, the Tango is a tonal work. Its tonality is D minor, even though it modulates to G minor in the central trio-like section."This is that one song that captures my heart everytime I listen to it.
