Performing soft dynamics convincingly poses a challenge for many sample string libraries; however, the Friedlander and Blakus handle the challenge with ease. The clever developers at Embertone hit pay dirt when they struck upon the idea of developing a TouchOSC interface for the Friedlander and Blakus, allowing you to use your iPad as a control surface to shape these instruments' parameters in real time. Using your fingers to control vibrato and dynamics on a touch screen is ingenious. It removes the delay inherent in rotating a mod wheel or depressing an expression pedal, giving you lightning quick response times.
