The stem should be about 4-6 inches long and have at least two or three leaves on it. -- Remove the lower leaves from the stem, leaving just the top few leaves. This will help reduce the amount of moisture lost through the leaves, which is important when the plant is not getting water from the soil. -- Place the cut stem in a glass or jar of water. Make sure the leaves are not touching the water, as this can cause them to rot. -- Place the jar in a warm, bright location, but not in direct sunlight. A windowsill or other brightly lit spot is ideal. -- Check the water level every few days and refill as needed to keep the water level consistent. Be sure to use fresh water each time. -- After a few weeks, you should start to see roots forming on the stem. Once the roots are about an inch long, you can transplant the cutting into a pot of soil. Be sure to use a well-draining soil mix and water the plant thoroughly after planting. It's important to keep in mind that propagation can be a slow process, so be patient and don't give up if it takes a while for roots to form. With proper care, your Syngonium cutting should start to grow and thrive in its new pot.
