I use red soil and sand mix in equal quantity. Fartilizer is just optional. I don't use fertilizer once a plant started to grow. And keep the plant in shaddy and bright place. Water only when you see the soil is dry. Water has to dain out easily as soon as you water. I grow jade plant just from it's leaves. I just plant a leave in any other pot and it would take a month to grow a tiny plant. Then i shift this plant to a proper pot after 2 months.
