Fresh artistic approaches are always praised by the art community, especially during massive modern exhibitions and festivals. An unusual approach to creating shadow installations has enabled Anila Quayyum Agha, a Pakistani artist to receive a unanimous decision for the Artprize in 2014. Anila Quayyum Agha has used modern laser cutting technology to embroider a wooden cube with intricate patterns. The source of light inside the cube fills a spacious room with a dynamic interplay of shadow and light. According to the artist, the "Intersections" have a hidden meaning, based on her own experiences growing up in Pakistan. She says that this art project mirrors the geometrical patterns, which may be found in Islamic sacred spaces.
