Die beiden arbeiteten zum ersten Mal bei der Verfilmung von Regeners Romandebüt „Herr Lehmann“ (2003) zusammen, für das der Element Of Crime Sänger auch gleich das Drehbuch verfasste. Seitdem folgten noch mehrere gemeinsame Film- und Bühnenprojekte. So bei „Robert Zimmermann wundert sich über die Liebe“ oder auch bei dem gemeinsamen Filmprojekt „Hai –Alarm am Müggelssee“. Haußmann, der bekannte und streitbare Theaterregisseur und Filmemacher und Sven Regener, der unkonventionelle Musiker und Schriftsteller, das passt. Beide sind ungefähr gleich alt, doch Haußmann wuchs in der DDR auf und Regener in Bremen. Trotzdem fanden beide eine gemeinsame Sprache und schätzen sich gegenseitig. Haußmann hat immer viel Wert auf die Musik in seinen Filmen gelegt und Sven Regener mit Element Of Crime eine lange Liste von Coverversionen eingespielt.
