Auf dem Konrad-Adeneuer-Ring staute sich der Verkehr in Fahrtrichtung Wehringhausen. In Höhe Hördenstraße hielt ein Fahrzeug verkehrsbedingt an, ebenso ein nachfolgender PKW im Bereich der dortigen Lichtzeichenanlage. Ein weiterer PKW reagierte offenbar nach derzeitigem Kenntnisstand zu spät, fuhr auf den haltenden Wagen auf und schob diesen auf das davor stehende Fahrzeug. Insgesamt wurden bei dem Auffahrunfall in drei Fahrzeugen sechs Personen leicht verletzt. Der Konrad-Adenauer-Ring blieb für die Zeit der Unfallaufnahme in Fahrtrichung Hagen etwa eine Stunde gesperrt.
