Past perfect continuous grammar tutorial This tutorial is about the past perfect and the past perfects continuous, also known as the past perfect progressive. In this lesson, I am going to show you how to form and when to use a past perfect, and how to form and when to use a past perfect continuous. Now let's get started. Take a look at these sentences: I had worked before I ate my breakfast. I had been working before I ate my breakfast. The first sentence is in the past perfect tense. The second sentence is in the past perfect continuous tense. Now let's have a look at how to make a past perfect. We can make a past perfect for the regular verbs, by using the auxiliary verb to have but then the past tense form which is had and the past participle. Remember we can make a past participle by adding -ed to the base form of the verb. For example: I had walked the dog. For the irregular verbs we also use had and the past participle but here the past participle has a different form. She had driven my car. (The infinitive form of the verb is to drive.) The past perfect continuous is made with the auxiliary verb have, but then the past simple for which it had, the past participle of the verb 'to be' which is been, the base form of the verb and ing. For example I had been walking the dog and she had been driving my car. Now let's have a look at the difference between the two. We use the past perfect for verbs that express either an activity or a state, which started in the past before something else in the past so we have two things happening in the past but one before the other. For example: He had talked on the phone before he started cooking I had broken my leg before I broke my arm. A past perfect continuous is used for an activity which started in the past before something else in the past, so only with activities. For example: I had been talking to him before I sent that email. Please note that we cannot use the verb 'to break' here. I thank you for your attention.Hello guys and gals, it's me Mutahar again! The IH protocol has enabled systematic legal requirement to be legislated for industrial settings. Fundamentally the legal adherence will establish systematic approach in mitigating the risk generated by the occupation stressors. In reality, like how we use seat belts to prevent getting summon tickets, the legal compliance in ventilation assessment has become a race get a pass results. As such, unscrupulous ESH practitioner do not take the gaps for improvement indicated in assessment report very lightly and demands statements to be more favourable. It has to be a happy ending. However the root cause of the issues is far beyond that. The poor basic fundamental knowledge by the system provider, so called IH consultants or any testing providers and end users themselves have crucified the actual benefits of a typical ventilation system. Lack of proper training providers to educate consultants and testing providers, failure of continuous education progress for registered competent person, the need to draw the line between profit margin, capital expenditure, operation expenditure, power wastage, inadequacy in assessing a good system providers plus the need to have a nice results have outshined the real benefits of a ventilation system and how it can be used in bare minimal forms to bring great benefits. It’s a very simple and basic approach which has been made so complicated and energy wasting through the practise of estimation and the need to have happy reading reports. We in E8 Group, have done the similar mistakes as above in the past and have learned to eventually use a ventilation system effectively, drawing a line between control integrity and power wastage based on actual condition in removing or diluting the stressors rather than purely sticking to standard and legal compliance needs. We wear seat belts to mitigate the risk of the hazard of accidents and not to prevent meeting Mr Handsome or Ms Pretty Police Officers.New Batch Announcement : Selenium + Java + End to End Framework + Infrastructure Setup (DevOps) Registration Link: https://naveenautomationlabs.com/selenium-training-batch/ Batch Starting from: 21st Feb, 2024 Duration: 15 weeks (4 days in a week) (Mon to Thursday) Location: Online (Zoom Meeting) – 1 hr + 15 mins ClassesTimings: (Monday to Thursday) 6:30 AM IST (Indian Time) 8:00 PM EST (US Time) 5:00 PM PST (US Time) 7:00 PM CST (US Time) Schedule a meeting in case of any queries/guidance/counselling: https://calendly.com/naveenautomationlabs ~~~Subscribe to this channel, and press bell icon to get some interesting videos on Selenium and Automation: https://www.youtube.com/c/Naveen%20AutomationLabs?sub_confirmation=1 Follow me on my Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/naveenqtpexpert/ Let's join our Automation community for some amazing knowledge sharing and group discussion on Telegram: https://t.me/joinchat/9FrG-KzGlvxjNmQ1 Naveen AutomationLabs Paid Courses: GIT Hub Course: https://naveenautomationlabs.com/gitcourse/ Java & Selenium: https://naveenautomationlabs.com/selenium-java-full-paid-course-recorded-videos/ Java & API +POSTMAN + RestAssured + HttpClient: https://naveenautomationlabs.com/manual-automation-testing-of-webservices-api/This video was cut from a HalloweenMoonCrab stream from 11/10/2023 on https://twitch.tv/HalloweenMoonCrab TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@halloweenmooncrab_ Twitter: https://twitter.com/unfollowwallace Join the discord!: https://discord.gg/YNQgdQXQTq Edited by SherlockOats https://twitter.com/sherlock0atsThe scholarsakademy is an online platform fo various competitive exam (IELTS,UPSC, SSC, Comlete English course, Spoken English) Our Website:http://www.thescholarsakademy.com/ Mail Id- Thescholarsakademy@gmail.com#victon #빅톤 Disclaimer: • Purpose of the reupload is to save and store content that is under possibility of deleting. • All subtitles on the channel are extracted in the exact form they are uploaded, and credited to the translators in their body of text. How to Draw NAIL POLISH for Kids| Nail PolishDrawing |Nail Polish Coloring Pages for Kids "Discover the Joy of Nail Polish Drawing with Our Step-by-Step Tutorial! Could a black swan event be on the horizon? Watch this video to find out more. COULD A BLACK SWAN EVENT COMING? Black swan theory A black swan (Cygnus atratus) in Australia The black swan theory or theory of black swan events is a metaphor that describes an event that comes as a surprise, has a major effect, and is often inappropriately rationalized after the fact with the benefit of hindsight. The term is based on an ancient saying that presumed black swans did not exist, until they were discovered in Australia in 1697, and it then became reinterpreted to mean an unforeseen and consequential event.[1] The theory was developed by Nassim Nicholas Taleb, starting in 2001, to explain: The disproportionate role of high-profile, hard-to-predict, and rare events that are beyond the realm of normal expectations in history, science, finance, and technology. The non-computability of the probability of consequential rare events using scientific methods (owing to the very nature of small probabilities). The psychological biases that blind people, both individually and collectively, to uncertainty and to the substantial role of rare events in historical affairs. Taleb's "black swan theory" (which differs from the earlier philosophical versions of the problem) refers only to statistically unexpected events of large magnitude and consequence and their dominant role in history. Such events, considered extreme outliers, collectively play vastly larger roles than regular occurrences.[2]:xxi More technically, in the scientific monograph "Silent Risk",[3] Taleb mathematically defines the black swan problem as "stemming from the use of degenerate metaprobability".[3]Bonjour à toutes et tous, Première vidéo de 2024, on rattrape le retard de publication en vidéo, mais on est pas restés non plus sans rien faire depuis le 28 décembre ! There are two kinds of reported speech Quoted speech or direct speech and reported speech or indirect speech. Quoted speech or direct speech Direct speech or Quoted speech, give speaker’s exact words and quotation marks are used or I could say, we repeat exact words only we place the words spoken between the quotation marks (“ words spoken”) Example: Original sentence I’ve lived in Amman for 6 years. Quoted speech will be Sami said, “I’ve lived in Amman for 6 years”. If we report what another person has said, we usually do not use the speaker’s exact words (direct speech), but reported (indirect) speech. Therefore, you need to learn how to transform direct speech Into reported speech. The structure is a little different depending on whether you want to transform a statement, question or request. • Statements When transforming statements, check whether you have to change Pronouns Present tense verbs (3rd person singular) Place and time expressions Tenses (backshift) • Questions When transforming questions, check whether you have to change: • Pronouns • Present tense verbs (3rd person singular) • Place and time expressions • Tenses (backshift) If you use Reported Speech there are mostly two main differences. • The introductory sentence in Reported Speech can be in the Present or in the Past. • If the introductory sentences is in the Simple Present, there is no backshift of tenses. • Usually past simple tense changes to the past perfect tense in reported speech But • Sometime you don't need to backshift of tenses if the statement is still true. For example: Sami: my brother is at Amman University. We could report this sentence without backshift of tenses, considering statement is still true Sami said (that) his brother is at Amman University. Remember, if the reporting verb is in the past tense, then usually we change the tenses in the reported speech.
