He was badly neglected, dirty, skinny, matted with fox tails all over his body, matt covering his eyes so he could not see, had an old leash embedded in a huge matt, and had ear infections. So cruel. At the shelter he was nervous but he slowly warmed up. He did well meeting other dogs and played with other small dogs. Thanks to the shelter for getting him into their vet for complete shave down, ear cleaning and neuter. Murphy is great with other dogs on walks and foster home. He is very sweet, curious, follows foster mom around and very happy. He is agile and can jump over low dog pen. Murphy needs time to heal, rest, learn basic training, and get healthy. Update from foster home: Murphy is now super healthy, happy, social, and very active. He is about 14 lbs with long legs. His coat is slowly growing back and he put on some healthy weight. He loves his two to three daily 45 min. walks, jogging, playing ball, playing with other dogs, and doing zoomies in the backyard. He is a fast runner now. For his happiness, he must have a home with an attached backyard. Murphy has some mild separation anxiety since he is bonded to his foster mom (who is home) and wants to follow her everywhere. He was so badly neglected before that he now loves his foster mom for all her TLC and healthy food he is getting. Murphy is learning to relax and is crate trained when she steps out for a short time. He sleeps in his crate with the door open overnight. Murphy would love to be your BFF and shadow. Great hiking buddy and dog social with dogs his size that isn't too pushy.
