Находится в 42 км к северо-западу от Центрального Сочи и в 135 км к югу от города Краснодара. Через посёлок Лазаревское проходит федеральная автотрасса А-147 (Адлер-Джубга) и железнодорожная ветка Туапсе-Адлер. Лазаревское граничит с территориями микрорайонов: Аше на северо-западе, Мамедова Щель на севере, Алексеевское на востоке и Солоники на юге. На западе посёлок Лазаревское омывается водами Чёрного моря. Протяжённость морского побережья в пределах города составляет около 14 км. Лазаревское расположен в низменностях предгорной зоны южного склона Главного Кавказского хребта. Горы и хребты начинают резко возвышаться при удалении от побережья моря. Средние высоты на территории посёлка составляют 20 метров над уровнем моря. На северо-востоке над посёлком возвышается гора Бостепе (535 м), а на юго-востоке гора Соутлянтепе (592 м). В окрестностях посёлка Лазаревское разводятся довольно редкие для Кавказа японские бананы и камфарное дерево. Выше посёлка расположено охраняемое самшитовое ущелье. Гидрографическая сеть представлена короткими реками стекающими с гор в Чёрное море. Наиболее крупной рекой в пределах посёлка является река Псезуапсе, на правом берегу которого расположена основная часть посёлка. В северных окраинах посёлка Лазаревское протекает река Куапсе. Также в пределах посёлка в Чёрное море несут свои воды многочисленные родниковые источники. В период паводков и сильных дождей, горные реки часто выходят из берегов, разоряя всё на своём пути. Климат в посёлке Лазаревское влажный субтропический. Среднегодовая температура воздуха составляет около +13,5°С, со средними температурами июля около +24,0°С, и средними температурами января около +6°С. Среднегодовое количество осадков составляет около 1400 мм в год.
