Популярность SUV растет, и Mitsubishi отказались от выпуска седанов и сконцентрировали усилия на кроссоверах и внедорожниках. Именно с Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross начинается репозиционирование бренда. Эта модель дополнила линейку компактных кроссоверов марки – она больше ASX и меньше Outlander. У кроссовера новый турбированный двигатель 1,5 литра, купеподобный дизайн, но при этом высокий клиренс. Дизайн передней части сделан по традиционной для Mitsubishi концепции, которую они называют Advanced Dynamic Shield. Eclipse Cross стильно выглядит сзади – у него выразительные фонари заднего света и разделенная дверь багажника. Сам багажник небольшой, но есть возможность подвинуть задние сидения, чтобы увеличить пространство. В панорамной крыше сделали два люка. Приборы: 7-дюймовый тачдисплей, прозрачный проекционный дисплей и впервые на Mitsubishi появился отдельный тачпад для управления мультимедийной системой. Есть адаптивный круиз-контроль, система кругового обзора, система курсовой безопасности и 7 подушек безопасности. Автомобиль получил 5 звезд в тесте EuroNcap.
