Als ich im Internet nach einem günstigen Elektrodenschweißgerät gesucht habe, bin ich ziemlich schnell bei Stahlwerk und dem Modell ARC 200 MD IGBT fündig geworden. Die Firma Stahlwerk hat nicht nur einen einprägsamen Firmennamen für diesen Produktbereich, den sie schwerpunktmäßig vertreiben, sondern verfügt auch über eine mehr als 20 jährige Erfahrung und ein breites Geräte-Spektrum, wenn es ums Schweißen geht. Zu dem Schweisshelm komme ich gleich und packe nun erstmal das ARC 200MD für sie aus. Stabelektroden in 2 und 2,5mm habe ich direkt mitbestellt und natürlich auch die passenden Schweisserhandschuhe, denn eins ist ja klar, die Persönliche Sicherheitsausrüstung, auch PDA genannt, muss beim Schweißen immer getragen werden. Neben den Werbebeilagen für die gängigen Social Media Kanäle, einem Wartungshinweis und einem kleinen Multitool ist auch eine sehr gute Bedienungsanleitung mit dabei, auf die ich später noch eingehe. In einem separaten Karton befindet sich das notwendige Zubehör für das Schweißgerät und last but not least, natürlich gut und sicher verpackt, das Schweißgerät selbst. Wer also bisher glaubte, ein Schweissgerät wäre immer schwer und unhandlich, der wird mit diesem Gerät eines besseren belehrt. Das ARC 200MD wiegt gerade mal 3,2 kg und ist so klein und handlich, dass es von der Form und Größe her, an einen kleinen Toaster erinnert. Auf der Vorderseite befindet sich links der +Pol und rechts der -Pol und oben die Einstellung für den Ausgangsstrom in Ampere. Auf der Rückseite befindet sich der Ein und Aus Schalter und auf der Unterseite ist ein Typenschild angebracht und die Sicherheitshinweise sind immer präsent oben auf dem Gehäuse. In dem Zubehörkarton befinden sich die jeweils 5 Meter langen Kabel, einmal für die Stromrückführung mit der Massezange und einem schwarzen Anschlussstecker und die Elektrodenzange mit rotem Anschlussstecker. Dann ist da noch ein Tragegurt und eine Staubschutzhaube für das Schweissgerät. Die Handschuhe von Stahlwerk aus robustem Leder eignen sich natürlich nicht für Arbeiten, wo Fingerspitzengefühl gefordert ist, aber dafür schützen sie Hände und Handgelenke gut vor umherfliegenden Funken und für meine Hände passen sie perfekt. Nun zu dem Schweisserhelm, wobei ich mir mit dem Modell ST-450 R einen sehr günstigen, aber trotzdem automatischen Verdunkelnden ausgesucht habe. Dieser befindet sich in einem Schutzsack, aus dem als erstes das einstellbare Kopfband ans Tageslicht kommt. Der Helm besteht aus Kunststoff und die Front der Filterkassette wird durch eine Schutzfolie geschützt. Im Lieferumfang befinden sich 5 Ersatzscheiben und auch wieder ein Multitool im Scheckkartenformat, was ja bereits bei dem Schweißgerät dabei ist. Jetzt habe ich zwei. Das Kopfband bietet alle erdenklichen Einstellmöglichkeiten, um es auch an jede Kopfform anpassen zu können, wobei der Kopfband-Einstellknopf hinten der einzige ist, der dann noch in der Praxis gebraucht wird. An der linken Seite des Helms befindet sich der Abblendregler, an dem Helligkeit zwischen DIN9 und DIN13 eingestellt werden kann. Auch an der Filterkassette gibt es Einstellregler für die Empfindlichkeit und Aufblendgeschwindigkeit, aber Beide lasse ich erstmal so eingestellt wie sie sind. Die Kassette kann einfach entnommen werden, um die Scheibe auszutauschen und auch innen ist sie mit einer Folie geschützt, die entfernt werden muss. Die Bedienungsanleitung des Helms ist klar und übersichtlich, genau wie die des Schweißgerätes, zu der ich gleich komme und zur Montage des Kopfbandes am Helm ist es sinnvoll, da mal einen Blick hinein zu werfen. Ich spreche aus eigener Erfahrung und wenn alles richtig eingestellt ist, sitzt der Helm auch fest am Kopf und das Visier lässt sich ohne zu verrutschen rauf und runter klappen. Beim Einsetzen der Elektrode in der Elektrodenzange, ist egal welche Position gewählt wird, natürlich auf einen festen Sitz zu achten, damit es kein Feuerwerk gibt, wo keines entstehen soll. Vor dem ersten Test schleife ich den Zunder mit einer Fächerscheibe von den Werkstücken. Bestenfalls sollten alle Teile metallisch blank sein, die verschweißt werden müssen.
