Frigge, introduces us to Hartzell’s line of composite propeller blades. The tried-and-true wood propellers have been a source of thrust since the Wright brothers, and within 10 years of the first powered flight metal blades were brought into use. Now, composite propeller blade technology can provide greater propeller blade performance and longer life. Hartzell uses two composite technologies to produce their propeller blades. One of these technologies is similar to what we have seen in other composite applications. The technology they apply to the larger blades uses carbon fibers in a more sophisticated production process. Because the larger blades used on airline size turboprops must withstand continuous use, they are designed to have a lifespan capability that is almost unlimited. If you look at the well developed teeth of many parrot fish on the Great Barrier Reef for example, you will see them taking chunks out of the coral to get at the small creatures living in the reefs. If you look at this giant clam you will see it breathing through the hole (valve) and the small fish maintaining it by removing small parasites. I don't know how they manage to keep sharks in the tank without them making a meal out of the other fish. Maybe they keep them well fed. Butterfly fish are monogamous and stay with their selected partner for their entire life. I think these small fish are following the shark so they can feed off the remains of the latest meal, We are coming up to the part where we'll meet the most intelligent and playful creatures of the sea, but we are also going to see a side to these creatures which is most impressive. If you think those jet skis at the beginning of the video were fast and powerful then keep watching for a few surprises. We found these curious and playful bottlenose dolphins stealing the bait off our fishing rods and this presented a great opportunity for us to make friends with some local wild dolphins and record some underwater video. But here in captivity they not only want to be fed by people, they also want to play with people. This dolphin was waiting for us to throw a ball into the water so it can throw it back to us.
