Have you ever used THIS to remove loose formica or peeling laminate? You may never have thought about using this TOOL. If you have laminate peeling or formica bubbling, maybe you need to remove it....if you only knew how, right? I always wanted to use a sharp putty knife or sharp chisel & chip the loose formica laminate off with that. I would get a little way with removing the laminate this way, but once the formica got to the really glued on areas, I couldn't get it off, without gouging the underside of the cabinet/counter. Or as my pals would say I'm texturing a cinder block wall with character Its got also what we call old world charm as we put it on the same way it was applied back in the day before color coats. While old, these textures are still sought after here in the U.S. as well as the UK, where they have mastered unique plaster textures that are creative. There's a huge variety of old world textures by master artisans, I guess they didn't spend all day on computers or watching TV, but instead hung out where the real creative juices could flow at a local pub with a pint in hand. The way we do it is to apply a skim coat over the cement or cinder block walls first, and when cement blocks draw the moisture out of the cement plaster, you then hand apply with trowel your lumps, bumps, humps or pancakes in a semi-random pattern. As most of you may know I work for myself but also with my dad and with the cinder block images on this wall he skim-coated it, then I came behind and added the texture. Together we make a great team. We also filmed the beginning steps to prep the newly built cinderblock walls.
