Missed Lord's Commandment 忽視命令, 完全略過 34-35 節 – Jesus said, “Love one another as I love you...” – Peter skipped v34-35 completely II. Mistook Lord's Statement 過分自信: 我願意 = 我能夠 – Jesus said, “you cannot come.” – Peter said, “why? I am willing.” i.e., “will” = “can” III. Miserable Failure Foretold 即將慘敗 – Jesus said, “Will you? Truly I say...” 你願意?我告訴你 – Peter speechless A. Missed Lord's Commandment Peter “cut off” v34-35 Peter's denial is famous passage in the Bible, foretold in all four Gospels (Mt 26:31-35, Mk 14:27-31, Lk 22:31-34, Jn 13:36-38). Yet John, being the beloved disciple in Jesus' bosom, was present, and is the only one recorded the situation and flow. Q. Why did all 4 Gospels record the denial of Peter while everyone else did exactly the same? A: these records show Peter's true love and strengthening to other disciples & Christians. J. Where do you find confidence? In comparing to others, or in trusting Christ? Do you help others in trusting Christ?
