It won’t do much more, but you'll still find many possibilities when it comes to inserting text onto any photo. The text-insert tool lets you modify several different parameters such as: size, position, font (you'll find more than 200 different types), color of the letters, even text inclination. All these edits are done in a way that’s simple and easy. The numbers of editing tools available on Phonto is quite limited, but it does include one additional option that gives you a lot of room for maneuver: you can download and install custom fonts to add to the over 200 that come with the app by default. Phonto is a simple but effective photo-editing tool you can use to add text to any of your images in a matter of seconds. You can also save the results in both JPG and PNG. Phonto is available for both iOS and Andoird and after using it for several days, I really like it. It’s easy to use, allows for adding text, applying filters (which I find are very pleasing to the eye), cropping the photo, adding items and provides additional styling and edit tools. Keep reading for my full Phonto app review Inside the app you have access to the camera, the camera roll or you can create a blank image and add different elements (think of Photoshop lite). You can see the iAd at the top, but it didn’t bother me. I didn’t feel interrupted as I used the app. Once you have an image loaded, you have the option of applying a filter. Personally, I liked their options, though some may prefer more precise control over different visual elements. I just want something quick and attractive. Adding text couldn’t be easier. You tap the image and then press the “Add Text” option. You’re then presented with the keyboard to enter your desired text. The font selection is by far the most extensive I’ve seen for any photo editing app I’ve used. They even have Helvetica Neue stylings! Once you’ve entered your text, you can use the additional styling options that you can use to salt to taste. I found the move tool to be especially inviting to use. My fingers are too bulky to get precise placement in many apps. You do have the ability to use your fingers to move the text, but with the directional pad you can get much more precise in your placements. HUGE WIN FOR PEOPLE WITH AVERAGE-LARGE FINGERS! Additional items are available to apply to your image. I didn’t use any in my example, but they are very easy to use and the experience is what you would expect from an app that has been designed as well as Phonto has been. I really am glad that I found this app. It is free to download in the App Store though you can purchase additional options through Add-On purchases.
