Here is a replay of the talk hosted by Amjad Ullah (@auMidh): Dynamic management of docker containers in multi-cloud and edge using MiCADO. ► Description: This talk will present an open-source solution called MiCADO, which is developed within the scope of a European commission research project called COLA – Cloud Orchestration at the Level of Application. MiCADO, built on top of Kubernetes, is a multi-cloud orchestration and auto-scaling framework, which dynamically deploy and manage the life-cycle of docker containers. This talk will cover, how docker containers are used by MiCADO for cloud-based applications. Furthermore, we will also present two extensions of MiCADO. Firstly, where MiCADO take on simultaneous management of docker containers across cloud-to-edge systems, and secondly, automatic management of container-based batch processing-based applications. ? Here's what she taught me about humanity. Over the course of my career, I have contributed to the fields of Immersive Realities, Artificial Intelligence, and Blockchains / Applied Cryptography. My research took me on a journey as one of the first anthropologists to live fully in the virtual world Second Life in 2009, experiencing everything from selling virtual t-shirts to attending concerts behind the guise of my pseudonymous avatar, Shamwow Oximoxi. I went on to found 4 companies, early in the fields of AI and blockchains. We were amongst the first teams to pioneer a number of technologies in the domains of Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, Natural Language Processing, Facial Recognition, Facial Mapping, Animation, Avatars, and more.  Also in early 2020, while in lockdown, I created an AI clone of myself — my likeness, my voice, my thoughts (at least educated her on my creative outputs like writing, poetry, music).  SamRad.ai Why did I do this, you ask? The truth is, it’s easy to be filled with existential dread when contemplating the future — especially when it comes to AI. My way of sitting with the discomfort of this sort of uncertainty is to face it head-on. I’m an anthropologist. A humanist. A researcher that focuses on the impacts of technologies on humans and humanity. Yet, I prefer to live an analog existence — unplugged yet connected, living amongst the trees, barefoot in the jungle, or frolicking in the sands of a beach. So why in the actual dystopian hell would I make a virtual clone of myself? Because I’m also a creative. A hacker. A builder. An artist. A storyteller.  Because getting my hands dirty with the elegant mess of lived experience is how I learn.  And because we are at a critical moment in human history.  Now more than ever we must work together to preserve our cultures, our creativity, our sacred knowledge, our planet, and our humanity. And the only way I know how to educate about this is to “show” not “tell,” to provide an experience of this shift, rather than simply rattling off some stories and case studies on a stage.  I'll begin to share more of this journey with SamRad.ai and my experiences brought back from the future ahead.
