Service Affinity with Cilium Cluster Mesh - Raymond de Jong, Isovalent Edge computing can require connecting hundreds of clusters across disparate locations and infrastructures. Without a networking solution to manage this scale and complexity, you will just have a bunch of computers talking to themselves rather than each other and your customers. In this session we will explore how you can leverage the new Service Affinity feature with Cilium Cluster Mesh for providing the correct connectivity for load-balancing, observability, and security between nodes across multiple clusters, enabling simple, high-performance cross-cluster connectivity at the edge. We’ll explore how Cluster Mesh allows endpoints in connected clusters to communicate while providing full security policy enforcement. The audience will walk away with an appreciation for how eBPF can ensure you communicate with the right edge.loadr is a self-contained Java utility which allows you to execute a HTTP GET request after a successful deployment of a Java EE application to Payara or GlassFish and Payara. The conference features presentations from developers and end users of Kubernetes, Prometheus, Envoy, and all of the other CNCF-hosted projects Wait, People Run Kubernetes on Mainframes? - Elizabeth K. Joseph, IBM When you think of container orchestration mainframes probably aren't the first thing that come to mind. But modern mainframes run Linux as a first class citizen and KVM can be used for virtualization, opening a whole world of open source tooling integration via libvirt and related virtualization tooling. The careful observer may have already discovered that the mainframe architecture (s390x) is one of the architectures that's built for every Kubernetes release. How did this come to be? Who uses these mainframe builds of Kubernetes? Why would you run a distributed container orchestration service on a platform that's a symbol of the monolith we're looking to leave? Drawing upon my work with distributed systems and containers, including time spent on OpenStack, Apache Mesos and Kubernetes, and my new experience with mainframes, this talk answers all of those questions and more. https://sched.co/UaeGThis is the 3th online course about the monitoring framework shinken http://shinkenlab.io/online-course-3-migration-to-20/ In this first course, we will see how to migration from a 1.4 version to the new 2.0 :)Kubernetes Storage Special-Interest-Group (SIG) Meeting - 11 October 2018 Meeting Notes/Agenda: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-8KEG8AjAgKznS9NFm3qWqkGyCHmvU6HVl0sk5hwoAE/edi #heading=h.2wtp3vku7nzb Find out more about the Storage SIG here: https://github.com/kubernetes/community/tree/master/sig-storage Moderator: Saad Ali (Google) Chat Log: 09:12:37 From Sig Release : I am going to drop off now. Would it not be amazing if that could be managed using Terraform? This talk will focus on the Terraform provider for TFE, which is solving exactly that and enables you to use the same approach for Terraform Cloud configuration as you have been using for the rest of the infrastructure deployment.
