The modern backend is a cloud of lambdas, connected via queues, peppered with domain rule engines, and sprinkled with consistency guarantees and pixie dust. The web frontend is also on solid ground, having finally acknowledged that managing the DOM sucks and it should be the computer's job, not yours, to keep it in sync. The wild frontier is data. The data that models events, facts, and conclusions in your domain, and how they apply to your users. We have not yet mastered data modeling, and I would surmise that it is the root-cause of many project failures and costly refactors. This talk is an introduction to modeling business data in web applications. Together, we will explore how existing popular solutions model data, why they fail, and how we could do better with surprisingly little effort. The slides may include parentheses, given my predilection for ClojureScript, but the conclusions are broad and applicable to many.There is no way you can demonstrate the richness of Elixir in a short screencast, but Dave Thomas hopes this video will give you a taste of the functional programming paradigms, and the simple but powerful way elixir supports concurrent programming. In this tutorial, we will be discussing how to create a professional-looking profile card using HTML and CSS. Understanding HTML and CSS: HTML is a markup language that is used to create the structure and content of web pages. HTML stands for Hypertext Markup Language and it is the foundation of all web pages. CSS stands for Cascading Style Sheets, and it is a stylesheet language used for describing the presentation of a document written in HTML. Creating the Structure of the Profile Card: The first step in creating a profile card is to create the structure using HTML. We will create a simple HTML structure that includes a header, a profile image, and a footer. In the header, we will include the name and job title of the person. In the footer, we will include contact information and social media links. Styling the Profile Card: Once the structure of the profile card is created, we will move on to the styling.
