I use GitHub Webhooks, openresty, NSSM, and the Waitress Python package to build a system that updates the app's code the app on the server every time a push is made to the GitHub repo that hosts the app. The Webhooks functionality is key because it allows you (and any GitHub user you've authorized as a collaborator) to make live, on-the-fly development changes to your app simply by pushing to GitHub from anywhere. The idea is that you should RARELY need to log in to your server to make changes to your app -- you (and your teammates) should be able to do this simply by pushing to the Git repo that hosts your app. Again, this is a SPEEDRUN. An in-depth explanation of each individual step will take place in other videos as soon as I can make them. I make a few mistakes during this process. That hurts my speedrun time... but it's useful to you because you can watch me as I debug and troubleshoot the system live. I have added annotations to help you do this. This video goes through the following basic steps: 1) Create a server 2) buy a domain name and configure its DNS records 3) Fork a test app repo on GitHub (contains a Plotly Dash app in Python) 4) Clone your fork to your server and your local computer 5) Install & configure PyCharm, set up your project environment 6) Use Certbot to set up your certificates for ssl 7) Install openresty (nginx) 8) Use NSSM to install nginx and your app as services 9) Set up Webhooks on GitHub 10) Configure the nginx.conf file
