FOSDEM 2020 Hacking conference #hacking, #hackers, #infosec, #opsec, #IT, #securityIn this episode of Erlang Embedded, we discuss the role of Erlang in modern Embedded Systems development, highlighting the concurrency and connectivity issues and how Erlang provides tools and methodologies to deal with these. Recorded during the Erlang User Conference 2012, many thanks to our guest speakers Klaus Kolle, Peer Stritzinger, Ulf Wiger and Tino Breddin.Speakers: Thomas Telkamp, Cariden Technologies, Inc. Knowledge of the amount of traffic between source and destination pairs of a network is crucial to fundamental operational tasks such as capacity planning, traffic engineering, and peering management. Router vendors, third parties, academic researchers, and ingenious network engineers have devised multiple ways of collecting and estimating traffic matrices. This session presents an overview of applications of traffic matrices and operational experiences with the various approaches, including NetFlow-based methods, mathematical estimation models, and MPLS (both RSVP and LDP) methods. Emphasis will be on practical experiences with each method. The tutorial has been slightly revised since previous versions. There will be less focus on NetFlow (only new advances will be covered), a more detailed description of how to build a traffic matrix from MPLS LDP counters, more coverage of measuring/estimating peering traffic (external in addition to internal traffic matrix). There will also be a discussion of the combination of traffic data with routing information. See more at: https://www.nanog.org/meetings/nanog39/agendaStay safe everyone! WelcomeThis is an example from the OpenGL SuperBible 6th edition. It demonstrates a simple depth of field effect and is implemented using a compute shader in OpenGL. The application renders the scene as usual and then uses a compute shader to create a summed area table into an offscreen buffer. A final pass then uses the depth information from the scene along with the summed area table to produce a per-pixel blurred output. Does your Makefile or README.md contain lines like "go install github.com/some-code-generator"? If the above applies, or you don't know what this is about, this talk is for you :) This presentation shows issues that arise when tooling dependencies are not handled properly, and demonstrates how to manage these kinds of dependencies with 'dep' and 'go-modules'. Ultimately, this should improve your mental health and reduce frustration of future co-workers/contributors. * Speaker: Robert Radestock | Spark Networks Robert worked as a Java Dev for about 7 years. Started to fiddle around with Go two years ago, which made him think about aspects of coding that he didn't give much thought before. * TALK 2: Y U DOAN LUV GO? ? / Zeeshan Ali * Description: Not everyone loves Go, shocker I know. But why? What would be the reasons for anyone to not appreciate this awesome language that is clearly a major success story? If you're curious to know, come to this talk. Zeeshan will share his journey with Go, the good, the bad and the ugly. * Speaker: Zeeshan Ali | Red Hat Free Software developer, Ecomodernist, into flying & Rust, and loves cats.
