However, big changes also mean that there could be some breakage with devices or setups and I've been seeing that more frequently as of late. In one of these recent update videos I did for Magisk, I received a comment talking about how the new update broke their install and they were asking for a way to downgrade to an older version of Magisk. After doing some trial and error testing myself, I noticed how difficult it was to downgrade Magisk to an older version. If you just install an old APK then you'll be greeted with a pop-up telling you that Magisk needs to download the latest version first. If you block internet access, you'll still be told to connect to the internet so that Magisk can make sure you have the latest version. It seems this restrictions is only with the Magisk application, and not with the Magisk binary. So in today's video, I want to show you how to downgrade to an older version of Magisk using Magisk itself. The first thing we need to do is download the version of Magisk you want to downgrade to. We download this file from GitHub and when doing so you'll notice that this file is in an APK format. We need to change this, though, so after the file has been downloaded let's open up a file manager application and change the filename here. We want to change this from an APK file to a ZIP file using the simple rename function of a file manager application. And when done, we need to open up the Magisk application and flash that ZIP file like you would flash a Magisk Module. After the install is complete, reboot the phone or tablet like you normally would and then check the Magisk version you have installed when it completes the boot process. You should notice that the Magisk binary has been downgraded to the version you flashed. So if you've noticed that a recent update to Magisk has messed something up with your smartphone or tablet, know that you can downgrade to an older (working) version just as shown in this video. We will focus on the additional steps required for calling SVs in non-human populations with lower quality reference genomes and fewer genome annotation resources. We will go over each step of the SV calling pipeline, including alignment of DNA sequencing data to a reference genome, calling SVs, filtering methods for false-positive SV calls, and the visualization of SV genomic loci for manual curation call sets. The workshop will include tutorials on using standard command-line tools to take your sequencing data (fastq) through obtaining SV calls in the Variant Call Format (VCF). We will also show how to combine these steps to create reproducible data pipelines using the Snakemake workflow management system. After this workshop, attendees will understand better how to call and curate SVs in their target populations. Attendees should have a basic knowledge of Unix command line navigation.
