We're going to be playing on Master difficulty. The most difficult setting which features a stricter time limit and more difficult puzzles. I grew up with this game's predecessor cult classic Shadowgate for the Nes, and so far I must say they have done an extremely good job with this 2014 remake. There are of course numerous ways to die, from the obvious traps to the subtle mistakes you're likely to make. Death isn't the only draw, Shadowgate is hilarious if you let it be. Forget to open the door? Bam, you smacked your head walking into it, feel like eating those roots you picked up? Go for it. Really want to try talking to that goblin? I'm sure he's a nice enough fellow. Be careful with this if you're playing on master difficulty though. Time management is also a huge deal on master difficulty, you are as previously mentioned always on a time limit. The more turns you waste, the more likely you are to permanently sabotage yourself later. "Dead man walking" is very much a real thing in Shadowgate so be careful young Jair...
