Just as we reached Mahon, our engine died on us likely due to an air-bubble that got in the lines from being quite tilted for so long. We sailed into the harbour and fortunately we got the engine going just in time to dock. It was time to rest and overcome our colds, more-so as the weather was not optimal for sailing. Mahon was is a nice city with good shops, restaurants and picturesque corners. After a week, recovering from our colds and doing some boat-works (having the outboard engine checked, water faucet and return valve replaced, refuelling…) and enjoying Mahon City, we sailed west along the south-coast to a pristine anchorage in Cala Tale. Stunningly beautiful. However, the ‘sky-line’ of Menorca was less attractive as it resembled a flat cake floating on the water.
