Las Fallas - праздник огня. Это что-то отдаленно похожее на наши проводы русской зимы. Только вместо блинов тут едят чурросы с шоколадом. Нечистый дух отгоняют петардами, которые на улицах разбрасывают все, кому не лень. А в середине дня и ночью это происходит организованно и называется масклета. Для тех, кому не хватает этого шума - с 7 утра по городу ходят оркестры с барабанами и будят народ. А народ только в 3-4 утра лег спать, после танцев и гуляний. И так все две недели: с 5 марта по 19 марта. Ежегодно. Параллельно готовят к сжиганию сами Файас, которые представляют из себя фигурные инсталяции на злободневные темы. Изготавливают файас их прессованного папьемаше. Высота может достигать 5-7 метров, а средняя стоимость - несколько сотен тысяч евро. При чем делают файас не только для взрослых, где высмеивают проблемы и политиков ( не только испанских), но и для детей - файас инфантиль. Ежегодно несколько скульпторов файяс "кидают" доверчивых испанцев, собирая деньги на постройку инсталяций с 6-8 районов Валенсии. И вместе с деньгами пропадают в неизвестном направлении. Так было и в этом году. Стоят такие файяс по всем районам Валенсии. В целом их насчитывается несколько сотен, и за 4 дня, что они собраны, увидеть все - нереально. Валенсианцы выбирают лучшую файас. И она получает премию - 300 тысяч евро. Ее отдают обществу файерос, которое есть в каждом районе города. Ночью 19 марта все файяс сжигают .
