The video includes some details about the boat trip from Ierapetra and a few tips for visiting this so-very-special place in Greece. If you’re looking for places to visit in Crete or just things to do, this trip is a good idea and will take a whole day from your vacation. I personally think you will not consider this day a waste of time. More than that, it will probably become a day you will never forget :) Often compared to the amazing Caribbean Islands, Chrissi Island has the most crystal clear water I’ve ever seen, sitting on a bed of golden sand, sparkled with pink and black sand. That’s exactly where its name comes from, as Chrissi (Greek: Χρυσή), means “gold”. This tropical heaven is just a one-hour boat trip away from Ierapetra, a town on the coast of south Crete. So you can drive to Ierapetra, and hop on the boat. I talk about the schedule of the 2 boats leaving from Ierapetra in my video, but doublecheck it to see if it's still accurate for when you're planning to go there. Chrissi Island is such an intriguing place, as it’s almost uninhabited. And by almost, I mean only 3 people are official residents of Chrissi Island. This is one of the reasons why this secluded space is not a human-made-mess yet:). I hope they keep it that way :).
