For this final event of its 2014 centennial celebrations, the ROM commissioned the Montreal-based new media studio to create and execute an immersive, one-night only experience that transformed the museum into a kaleidoscopic wonderland. Highlights included an exterior light show, and inside, a generative art piece and audio-reactive visuals generated live by performing musicians. While two violinists, a DJ and a percussionist performed, their music stimulated beautiful imagery built on color, light, movement, and texture. The real stars of the ball were the eight artifacts transformed by Moment Factory into a generative art piece projected onto a giant screen. Moment Factory's artists created high-quality video treatments that gave each artwork a new and ever-changing kaleidoscopic look, generated in real time and inspired by the building's architecture. https://momentfactory.com/work/shows/ceremonies-events/rom-centennial-ball *** L’art, l’architecture et la lumière se sont unis le temps d’une soirée en une installation multimédia immersive créée par Moment Factory pour le Bal du centenaire du Musée royal de l’Ontario (ROM), le samedi 8 novembre. Pour cet événement exclusif, qui couronnait la série de célébrations du centenaire en 2014, le ROM a mandaté le studio de nouveaux médias de Montréal pour créer et produire une expérience immersive d’un soir qui transformerait la façade et les salles intérieures du musée en un monde de merveilles kaléidoscopiques. Une oeuvre d’art générative et des visuels audio-réactifs, qui se développaient en temps réel avec la performance des musiciens, comptent parmi les moments clés de la soirée. C’est ensuite dans la Chen Crystal Court qu’ont été dévoilés les vrais stars du bal: huit artéfacts, sélectionnés par le musée, puis transformés par Moment Factory en une oeuvre d’art générative projetée sur écran géant. Inspirés une fois de plus par l’architecture de l’édifice, les artistes de Moment Factory ont créé des traitements vidéos de haute qualité, donnant à chaque oeuvre une apparence nouvelle et en perpétuel changement, le tout en temps réel. Les invités se sont ensuite dirigés vers le Currely Hall et le Chen Court pour danser et se divertir, accompagnés des projections audio-génératives de Moment Factory, qui réagissaient en temps réel à la musique de la soirée. AmSouth’s subsidiary, AmSouth Bank, operated banks throughout the southeast. In 2000, AmSouth banks inadvertently became part of a Ponzi scheme. The scheme was discovered in 2002, and AmSouth became subject to a criminal investigation. The investigation determined that at least one AmSouth employee had suspected the investment scheme was illegal, but had failed to file a Suspicious Activity Report. No blame was ascribed to the board or any individual director. The Federal Reserve ordered AmSouth to improve its Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money-Laundering, referred to as BSA/AML, program. AmSouth had to pay about $50 million in fines and penalties. William and Sandra Stone owned shares of common stock in AmSouth. They filed a derivative complaint in the Court of Chancery, alleging that AmSouth’s directors had failed to engage in proper oversight. The Court of Chancery dismissed the case based on the Caremark standard, under which, if a shareholder’s claim of directorial liability for corporate loss is based on the directors’ ignorance of liability-creating activities within the corporation, then only the board’s sustained or systematic failure can establish the lack of good faith that’s required for liability.
